Kinsella Marine LLC, is owned and operated by Captain Colin Kinsella. A true Irish sailor, Colin was born and raised in Wexford Co. about an hour south of Dublin. He earned his degree in Marine Engineering at the Cork Regional Technical College and then went to sea on commercial vessels. After a year spent honing his engineering skills aboard commercial dredgers, Colin decided to change gears and geographical location, and accepted a job as the Chief Build Engineer for the sail training vessel, STV Spirit of Bermuda. He spent the next year in Rockport, ME overseeing the mechanical aspects of building a 115', 3 masted, tall ship. During this time Colin also traveled to Peoria, IL for intensive coursework on Caterpillar Marine Engines. After the build was complete, Colin remained with the ship as the Chief Engineer. He developed a love of sailing and over the next four years became just as confident on the deck as in the engine room. He served as both First Mate and Chief Engineer (although not at the same time) aboard the ship from 2006-2010, and then went back to school and got his captain's license in 2010/11.
